Little Bit of Sparkle, Little Bit of Rustic

When I first met with my friend, Jessica to discuss her wedding design, these were her exact words...she wanted her wedding to have "a little bit of sparkle, and a little bit of rustic". We both had a laugh at her description, but it totally made sense to me. As we started to plan out the decor, her and her fiance, Kyle were looking for, that simple design concept completely came true.

Jessica and Kyle chose a beautiful venue for their reception - "Grand Imperial - Banquet and Conference Centre" in Edmonton, AB. This newly, renovated space - with it's many exquisite details - is simply stunning!

The entrance into the venue became a place to display many of our rustic elements. Barrels, crates and an old wooden ladder were elements we brought together with some fresh florals.

We added a little sparkle to this display, with a silver beaded curtain hung from our copper stand. This became a perfect place to display Jess & Kyle's engagement photos.

As guests continued into the entrance space, more barrels and rustic elements were displayed next to the guest book table.

Inside the reception space, this sweet little spot was created for guests to jot down their best marriage advice or date night idea's for the couple.

A memorial table was also placed in the reception space. Photos of their family members, who were with the couple in spirit, were displayed on this table along with a single candle lantern.

Jessica chose this very touching poem for the memorial table.

One of my favourite parts of this wedding design, was the kid's area.
We created this space for the little guest's to hang out in throughout the wedding festivities.

The wedding cake & cupcake table were another place we combined the rustic and sparkly elements. The wooden crates added the perfect touch of rustic set on top of the sequin tablecloth provided by the venue. We were lucky enough to attend this wedding and the cupcakes from "Cake Affair" were sssooo delicious!

The candy table was a hit at this wedding! Jess & Kyle stocked up on some awesome treats and the guest's thoroughly enjoyed them all!

The table my family and I were seated at was conveniently placed next to the cupcake table AND the candy table, so our little guy was quite a happy wedding guest!

Now, let's talk about this stunning venue! The Grand Imperial prides themselves on being a one-stop shop for your wedding experience. They provide all the tablecloths, napkins, head table linens and beautiful gold chivari chairs! My team and I brought in the finishing decor touches, so it made our setup run smoothly knowing that the basic design elements were already in place.

We added a bit of sparkle to the backdrop with our silver beaded curtains.

The centrepieces were a mixture of white and coral fresh florals,
placed in a sequin accented mason jar.

A HUGE shoutout to my sister, Tracy and my mom for helping me make all the centrepieces!

Every second table had a white lantern with a smaller mason jar placed next to it.

The coral napkins and silver sequin table runners (provided by the venue),
really made the table design pop!

The head table design, from above.
This venue has a stellar balcony that the guests can lounge in throughout the night.

The 10-tier chandelier is a gorgeous focal point in the room!

We danced the night away under the chandelier's glow!

My family and I had so much fun decorating and attending this wedding.
Here's my boys enjoying the kid's area.

Jess & Kyle - thank you for asking me and trusting me with your wedding design.
It was such a pleasure working together with both of you!

I hope you have many, many beautiful years together, full of love & happiness!

Sincerely,

Terralyn
